We're getting a new skin (possibly a legendary) that shows off his face. The fact that they were finally willing to show his face after all of these years - indicates 1 of 4 things (IMO) we're going to see later this year, or next year: Jhin Face study - Concept Art by Wild Blue Studio All the same, i think its freaking AWESOME. Second, I'm not sure I think that reveal is earned within the length of a single graphic novel- unless the focus of the story requires revealing Jhin is human. However first, I think the craftsmanship of the art should be a major consideration before/if a product reveals his face to the audience. That said, personally, I think revealing Jhin's face is something Riot should do eventually. That you don't know exactly what he looks like and that he can blend into a crowd because he is so "normal" looking is a part of his power and powerfantasy. But ultimately by choosing the camera angles we avoided this completely.Įven ignoring the fact that Jhin is a master of disguise, part of Jhin's threat and theming is as a psychopath. but with his hand partially covering his face or if we had pieces of his mask broken, revealing part of his face underneath. Mostly because we knew we might've shown Jhin partially and briefly unmasked. Created as a reference for the artists (exclusively). A post made by now ex-rioter WAAAARGHbobo who is Jhin's writer claimed that the artists of the comic where given Jhin's face because they had planned to reveal or partially reveal it in the comic, but ultimately didnt get too.Īs for the face, we actually commissioned and have images of Jhin's basic face for the comic. It would make sense a artistic psychopath like him would hate his own face.Įdit/Update: The reveal was indeed a mistake, this art was meant to be posted with his face censored, as the original was deleted and re-upload. Notable in the fact that his mask is asymmetrical in its design, as is his entire attire. For those who arent as observant, Jhin HATES symmetry. AND THAT IS THE POINT! Jhin was always made to be just an un-assuming stage hand, who could easily blend with the crowd and go un-perceived.Īs pointed out by someone on Twitter, its interesting to note he has a perfectly symmetrical face. Long enough for people to get it, and im here to share it now! (Credit to SpiderAxe for sharing it) Now, the same, FULL RES concept art was posted, briefly, on Wild Blue Studio's art station. So a couple months ago, when the Zed comic came out by Wild Blue Studio which featured massive reveals (Zed, Shen and Kusho's face), some people posted about the leaked concepts arts for the comic, most notably was the concept art of JHIN's FACE, however, it was censored or covered up.
